SoMe Index, week 28

Welcome to week 28!

After spending a couple weeks at rank two, Iltalehti returns to the top of Finnish rankings this week with a solid 670,349 Page engagement and Web Shares combined. Ilta-Sanomat comes in second with 657,022 engagement and Yleisradio wraps up the top three with 544,095.

No changes in Sweden this week as Expressen holds on to the crown, again breaking the one million mark with 1,051,454 total engagement. Rival tabloid Aftonbladet holds second place with 856,649 engagement and viral site Newsner comes in third at 630,130.

In Norway, TV 2 climbs back to the top with 615,832 engagement, after losing out last week to public broadcaster NRK who finds itself back in second place this week with 413,098 engagement. VG however doesn’t make it to the top three this week as daily newspaper takes third place for the first time since week 19, this time with 364,584 engagement.

In France, we’ve got refreshing changes as we move away from the Euro 2016 games. Free daily 20 Minutes claims overall first place for the first time, with a smashing 2,920,663 total engagement. Sports site L’EQUIPE comes off a six-week streak on top and ends up second with a still very impressive 2,352,577 engagement, as broadcaster BFMTV wraps up the top three with 1,982,761 engagement.

Ilta-Sanomat celebrates the 65th anniversary of the Linnanmäki amusement park rollercoaster ride, earning 34000 On-Post engagement and 28000 Web Shares on the article itself.

SVT Sport’s story covering Swedish golfer Henrik Stenson winning his first Major tournament in record fashion created 43500 On-Post engagement and 29800 Web Shares.

TV 2 Nyhetene covers the wedding of biathletes Ole Einar Bjørndalen and Darya Domracheva, earning 28000 On-Post engagement and nearly 30000 Web Shares so far! posted this emotional quote from the film “The Green Mile” in response to the Bastille Day attack in Nice, creating nearly 350000 On-Post engagement as of the moment of writing.
